Drum roll please........

After the last post, you could have probably guessed the baby's gender. I cried on Thursday when we found out the baby was a boy because we had decided long before we started trying to name the baby after Ryan's dad if we had a boy. Well guess what.......

Can you believe it? I knew it all along. Everyone else told me that the baby would be a girl and I just knew that when they told us our due date was May, it was a boy. Ryan's dad had a birthday in May. Our baby's name is going to be Philip Benjamin. Benjamin is my dad's name, so what greater honor could our baby have then to be named after both it's grandpa's. I am over the moon excited about our little boy. For a split second, when I saw the penis, I thought "Oh I wish it were a girl." Isn't that terrible? How cruel of me to wish that! I'm human and it was just a split second thought and I'm so glad to have Philip growing inside of me. Wow it is wierd to associate a name with the baby. That is why I said that Ryan's dad is with us everywhere we go and I just love the little reminders of him that we get. What a blessing to have had Phil in our lives. That is why I said my buglet would know his grandpa, he has a constant reminder, and we have a miracle.

Merry Christmas everyone, from my family to yours.

Tribute to my Father-in-law

9 years ago today Ryan's dad left us. He was one of the best people that I know and I miss him so much. I miss that he will not know his grandbaby, he would have been the best grandpa. I do know that my child will know his grandpa and will love him as much as Ryan and I do. I made that promise to Philip when I found out I was expecting. I do believe that he is with us in spirit and he is in our thoughts daily. I will type more later, right now I need to blow my nose and wipe my tears.

Ultrasound done and we know the gender!!!!

I'm so stinken excited! I can't wait to share with you, but since Grandma reads this we won't be revealing anything just yet. I will be telling them on Christmas Eve, so be on the lookout for an update then. Maybe I'll post before I go and see them since my doesn't have internet access at home. We are baking together all weekend so it's going to be hard to not answer her when she asks about the gender. I will stay strong though and not bend an ounce. I cried like a baby when I saw our little buglet. I can't believe that I can associate a name with our little one now. It seems so official to me and I'm just beside myself. Tonight we are picking out a card design for the christmas cards and it's off to Sam's Club to get them done tomorrow. I have to buy stamps for them and they will be mailed over the weekend. I can't wait for the reactions from our family that doesn't even know we are pregnant. Won't they be shocked!

Thanks for all the well wishes and excitement. I can't wait until Michelle and Tammy get their BFP's. I will be screaming from the rooftops in joy for them. No one should have to endure the heartache that we have had to go through.

u/s on Thursday

Sorry I didn't post last week, what a week it was. We didn't get to have our u/s. The docs office was busy and there was someone using the machine, so we had to schedule for this week. No biggie, that just means that the baby is bigger and we should be able to see more. They gave me the list of instructions on how I have to drink 24oz of water an hour before hand, no videotaping, can't take still pictures, no kiddos and the I can't recopy my baby pictures (like anyone follows that!). After I read this list off to my mom and Ryan he looks at me with this serious face and says "What about me? Does that mean I can't come in?" What a goon.....so I play along and say "Nope, look at rule number 21...No Ryan's allowed!" For a minute he believed me and then my mom started laughing so he caught on. "You think you're pretty funny don't you?" he said and I just replied under my breath "Nope, you're just really nieve." What a goof! Thursday is both good and bad because I don't have that long to hold the secret from my mom but yet on the other hand I want to send out christmas cards with our gender announcement. That just means a shorter time to get the cards made. I'm sure that 1 hour photo is going to cost us an arm and a leg, but buglet is worth it.

We are no where near ready for Christmas yet. I have gifts to purchase, like all of them, and little time to do it. I don't know what we are going to do. I best get busy, huh. I think that they baby has sucked every ounce of creativity from my body. I have nothing left these days. I have a few ideas of things to get people, but just am swamped at school that I don't have the energy to go and get things done after school. I take a nap and then it is dinner time, ugh! I need to have a game show and have the milk-maid go and get my shopping done for me. I hear she can do a lot with just 15 minutes and 2 kiddos. I have to say I'm really impressed.

Doc's appointment tomorrow....I can't wait!

Well tomorrow we go and see our wonderful OB. I am so excited! I'm 18 weeks today so I'm hoping to see if our little buglet comes with peanuts or is plain. That is a scrapbook page I saw the other day when looking through a magazine. A woman was having twins and she wrote on the page "Max comes with peanuts and Molly comes plain." I thought that was the cutest thing. We have decided not to tell anyone until Christmas. That will be part of our gift to them. I haven't decided how to incorporate it just yet, but will soon. Somehow I will come up with a cute way to tell them they are getting a grandson or granddaughter. So you all will have to keep the suspense up for just a few more days. Maybe on Christmas Eve I'll get on here and let the cat out of the bag. My mom told me she won't talk to me for a year if I don't tell her tomorrow. But what fun would that be if I just said, Oh yeah the baby is a girl/boy. Boring!

Not too much else to report as of yet. I'm not feeling the baby on a regular basis. Just every now and then. I went to a scrapbooking crop on Friday and was looking for inspiration and all of a sudden I got three jabs in the belly. What a cool feeling! Of course I was like, "Ok, do it again!" But sense I'm not stubborn, and Ryan is, the baby took after him and I got nothin. Oh well! Thank goodness for my doppler. I don't know what I would do without it. The baby's heartrate has been in the high 140's except yesterday, it was in the 150's. I'm really stumped now. Nothing like riding the middle of the road. That would be my child though.......not quick to say I'm a boy or I'm a girl. I know that heartrate's are just an old wive's tale anywho.

Not too much else to say except we haven't even started our christmas shopping yet. I don't know what to get for anyone. I'm ususally so on top of the game, but not this year. I think that the baby is sucking my brain little by little. I don't know what else it could be. Ugh!
