The long awaited video....

I took the video out, it was causing too many problems for people.

Ok so maybe it isn't long awaited, but here it is anyways. I wrote a silly poem for my cousin to read on her 11th birthday to the family. I didn't make it rhyme so they would listen, hopefully, to the words. My dad was being goofy trying to make noise and be loud.....that is just my dad. He does stuff like that. My aunt cried and the girl that opens her mouth with excitement is my 20 year old cousin who has 2 children by a 36 year old poor excuse of a person. He is a drug dealer and all that fun stuff. She did leave him, but not until she had 2 kiddos first. It is sad to say, but they don't have a chance and that breaks my heart. My family is just plain goofy and I don't know where my mom came from and how she made a life outside of that madness. It truely amazes me.

On to nicer things.....that cute kitty, that is sleeping on the changing table in the post below, is a pain in my butt. He won't leave me alone! He comes in like clockwork at night, meowing and purring to cuddle with me. He is like glue to my side. If I go outside he cries at whatever window is open until I come in. I go to bed, he goes to bed. I take a shower and he lays on the bathmat until I'm finished. If Ryan even touches me Karbyn gives him that look of "I'm going to claw your eyes out and eat them for dinner." (Spoken with a french accent) My mom thinks he knows I haven't been feeling well and that something is different with me. I've never had an animal be so attached to me before. I think he is going to try and get in the crib at night. I just know it.

What a weekend!

Wow....we had a busy weekend. No rest for the weary. I'm do for a long winter's nap today though, let me tell ya. Friday started out great. I was feeling wonderful and forgot I was even preggers I was feeling so good. After school I went home and crashed on the couch. When I woke up I had a headache and had my sea legs kicking in. I hate those sea legs and will be so glad when they are gone in a few weeks. Hopefully they don't show up so much during the 2nd tri. Anywho, we met Ryan's mom and stepdad for dinner on Friday. We got there early, thank goodness and got a booth and were able to hide our present. We had a nice conversation all through dinner about family and what every has been up too. We haven't seen them since the end of July, so we had some catching up to do. During dinner this family came in with the cutest little boy sucking on his binky. I caught myself just in time from saying I hope our little buglet likes his/her thumb or binky. Thank goodness because we hadn't told them yet. After we were done eatting Ryan gave his mom a gift. Jim and Gwen took us up north for a weekend as a christmas gift. Jim has 4 children and Gwen has 2 boys. Only Jim's 3 sons were able to make it up and both of Gwen's boys. We used this as the time to give them a thank you card. Kinda sneaky....I know. She read the card and then gave it to Jim and started to feel the gift we had given them. I told her you are never going to guess what it is. She said, oh wow it feels like a trivet. Nope. We gave her a frame that said baby with the u/s picture in it. Here is a pic of it:

The little gold circles spell our baby. She looked at it and then read it said baby and was like....no way! I'm going to be a grandma. My prayers have finally been answered. Ryan and I were shocked. We weren't sure how she would react. We didn't know. After dinner we went back to their condo and everybody celebrated, except me. Just water on the rocks for me please! We ended up staying until 11:30 that night. I was so tired, I could barely keep my eyes open anymore. As we were getting ready to leave I gave Jim a hug and said...see ya later Grandpa. He got a little choked up and said, I am huh! I can't imagine having my children call him anything different. Ryan's dad passed away in 1998, and we miss him terribly. It hurts that our baby won't get to meet his Grandpa Phil, but he will know his grandpa phil and I know that Phil will be with our baby in spirit. Jim is going to be a wonderful grandpa to our baby. None of his children have kiddos of their own yet.

We didn't realize just how excited Gwen really was until Saturday morning. She had gone to a garage sale and they had a nice changing table for sale. She called and asked if we were interested, and I said of course. She bought it and brought it over and the cats just love it. The pad needs to be replaced on it and it needs a little touch up of paint, but other than that it is just fine for our baby. Gwen doesn't do many things for us. It isn't who she is. That doesn't make her a bad person, just makes her Gwen. I wasn't about to turn down any offer from her. Here is a picture of Karbyn chilling on his new bed:

Thank goodness we aren't keeping the pad, he has put his back claws through it already. I wasn't going to be picky about the changing table. You really don't use it that long anyways. It really is cute. I will post more about Sunday in tomorrow's blog. I'm not kidding when I said we had a busy weekend!

We got to see our little buglet!

OMG was that ever cool. The doc was wonderful. Before he got started he asked me what the most important thing was from here on out....of course I said the baby. Nope. Ok, taking care of myself. Wrong again. Then he blurts out "Patient Recruitment." Jody will understand this....our doc is different. He has a sense of humor and a strong view on anything politicial. When he said this to me I started laughing. He told me I didn't have time to be tortured by him, which I really didn't, and he would be in need of a replacement for me. We have only been seeing doc for 1 month. The other 18 months were spent with another RE who shall remain nameless. I was tortured enough in that office, let me tell ya. Then we got to the fun stuff.

He took his time and went through everything showing us where the placenta will be and what the yolk sac does and it's location and then he got to the good stuff....the baby. He showed Ryan where the baby is and told him the little blinking blurb was the heart. He tried to find the heartbeat and then told me to hold my breath, my breathing was interfearing. As soon as I held my breath you could hear the heart with the "whooshing" sound. Heartbeat was 110 and the most wonderful sound. We go back again for 1 more u/s on the 12th of October, which will be 9 weeks. I was on cloud nine when we left. I couldn't stop looking at the pictures. Doc said we have a 90% chance of bringing home a baby and if I was a gambling woman that's a bet I would take.

After we got through at the doctor's we went to Target. Ryan and I bought our first outfit. A little purple winnie the pooh outfit and a little blue and green pooh polo. We looked at cribs and bedding and all the fun stuff. After Target we went to Babies-R-Us....I could live at that store. I was really impressed with the prices they have on stuff. They aren't very expensive, and Ryan and I found way too many things we loved there. They don't have a store in our home town, but I'm sure that family would still go and buy us things.....especially the crib set we found. OMG it is way too cute! Here is a picture of the bedding.

Needless to say our heads are still spinning. We are going to tell Ryan's mom and stepdad tonight. Wish me luck. I don't think she is going to be very excited at all. At least my parents are. It really is a shame, but I'm not going to make her be a grandma. Either she is or she isn't.

Thanks for all of the well wishes. It is finally sinking in now that I'm going to be a mommy!

Just a few hours away....

from our 1st u/s. I'm freaking scared out of my mind! I am so happy that I have made it this far. I still am in shock. I just hope that today goes like I have dreamed it will so we can start the process of telling everyone. We have dinner plans with Ryan's mom and step-dad tomorrow and I really want to give them the picture frames I found. They say "I love my grandma" and "I love my grandpa" on them. I'm hoping to put a picture of the u/s in them. I didn't think I would sleep last night, because of the excitement, but I don't even remember hitting the pillow. My stomach was getting hard last night and I can feel my pants putting pressure on my lower belly. That is good right? I'm going to be a paranoid pregnant lady who is never going to enjoy her pregnancy.....I can feel it now. Someone give me virtual kick in the pants and tell me that everything will be ok.

On a happier note.....HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY TO AVA! What an adorable little girl she is.

I'll post pictures tomorrow of our little buglet and will have a post that is much cheerier than this one is. I think my nerves are shot this morning!

6 Weeks

I can't believe it.....I actually made it to 6 weeks. This is the fartherest I have made it. Everything after this mark is truely a blessing. I have to say that nausea is starting to set in. I was hoping that I would be able to say I feel great, but no such luck. I keep hearing the 2nd trimester is wonderful. I can't wait! I find myself eatting small meals throughout the day because I can't eat that much in one sitting. It is actually nice, and I don't mind having a few small meals rather than 1 large meal.

Over the weekend Ryan, Dad and me with 2 friends went out on a fishing charter. We had a lot of fun. We walked away with 3 fish....of course mine was the biggest. I will post pictures of the fish when I get them developed....of course I didn't use my digital for those.

Here is a picture of my dad and Ryan as we are setting off on the lake.

Here is our friends Heidi and Troy

And here is me....I didn't even get sick if you can believe it. It was me and dad who held out until the end!

5w1d.....

and extremly tired. Wow I can't wait for the 2nd trimester to come. I stay busy during the day because I know if I don't I will fall asleep. I have to call my allergist today. I can't take my allergy pill because it is on the "not sure if it's safe during pregnancy" list. I think that is part of my problem. I'm starting to bloat a little already. According to my mom that comes from her side. They all were showing in the first tri. I wore some maternity capri's yesterday to work because it was the only thing that was comfy on my belly. Somedays are worse than others.

I still haven't told my good friend yet. To be honest, I'm scared to death to tell her. I'm afraid that she will stop talking to me. They have been trying to have a baby for a little while now too. She suffered 3 miscarriages and has to take heprin to stay pregnant. The only problem now is she isn't ovulating. I feel really bad for her. I want her to have a baby too, but can understand her feelings of "why not me?" We are 1 week away from the u/s so maybe then I will tell her. I'm not sure. She knows we are trying and she is going to keep asking me if I'm preggers. I feel bad saying no.

Mom and I went to a Trace Adkins show on 9/11 at a county fair. We had a blast. I ended up sitting right next to a girl who was pregnant and said her baby was going bonkers during the show. I can't wait for those moments. I'll post a couple of pictures of the concert. Josh Gracin openned up for him. He was just as good as Trace. I thought Trace would be bigger, but nope he isn't barely 6 foot.

This is Josh Gracin

This is Trace Adkins

Levels are in.....

and it looks like the numbers are fine. My beta was 1405, which I was hoping for 1330, and my progesterone was 19.71 which seems a little low to me. It was like 26 last week. I know that progesterone can vary from day to day. I'm still waiting for the doc to call me back with the results. I'm one of those impatient people who gets the numbers from their lab before the doc calls. I'll ask just to make sure.

I'm still fighting a headache and extreme fatigue these days. For 2 days in a row I have been in bed before 10, which is vary unusal for me. The only bad part is I seem to wake up when Ryan does at 4:30 and have trouble falling back to sleep before my alarm goes off. That can stop at any point now. Tomorrow I'm going to hit the local second hand stores in hopes of finding some cheap maternity clothes. My pants aren't fitting very comfortably right now. When I wasn't preggers there were tons of clothes, now that I am there won't be any.

Tammy if you are reading this I hope that all is well with you. Haven't updated your blog in awhile I just wanted to make sure you were ok.

4w6d today.....

and I still don't feel pregnant. I hoping that I will continue to stay like this for 9 months, but I'm not holding my breath. I have a weird pressure in my belly that I feel when I'm sitting down or stand up quickly. My boobs feel full but not sore. I do notice when I wear my glasses that if I turn my head too fast I feel dizzy. That is it though, nothing more.

We had a fun weekend. Ryan got tickets to the Michigan/Oregon football game this past weekend. We are true Michigan State fans.....anyone from Michigan will understand you are either a Michigan fan or a Michigan State fan, but not both. The people Ryan was going with are Oregon fans so I told him I would get him an Oregon Ducks shirt. He wasn't happy. In his pee brain he thought wearing an MSU shirt would be fine and he would be disgracing MSU if he wore another teams shirt. Now, mind you, Michigan has a very good hospital and I was worried that if he showed up in green and white he would end up in that hospital. It took some big time persuading to get him in that Oregon shirt, but once I did I knew he would be happy. So off he went to the "Big house" to watch a football game. I didn't hear from him at all during the day, so I figured that he was having fun. At halftime I got a phone call from him about how cool the game was and how happy he was that he had gone. Oregon was up 34-7 at halftime. The were killing Michigan. After the game he called me again to tell me he had his chest puffed up and was walking out of the stadium with his head held high. I think he has found another team to call his own. We will however be in trouble if Michigan State plays Oregon.

On a lighter note I'm getting my second set of bloodwork done tomorrow. I'm not quite as worried about this set as I was the first because I know in my heart that my pregnancy is progressing as it should.

Am I really?

Pregnant that is? I don't feel like it at all. I do have this recurring headache that comes and goes and is getting to be very annoying. The doc said I will be fighting those until about 10 weeks. Lets hope not. It's hard to function at school when all you can focus on is the throbing in your head. My mom said she had headaches too early on. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining....so please don't take it like that. If I had to fight this headache for the next 9 months, I would do it if it meant having a baby in my arms when we were all said and done. That is the only symptom I have. I was at a garage sale this morning and I overheard a woman talking about being pregnant and due in April. I thought to myself....awww wouldn't a baby be wonderful. I kept shopping and when I got into my car I had a duh moment! I am due in May....that is how I'm still feeling these days.

I go for my second set of bloodwork on Tuesday. I was told I didn't need another set done, but for piece of mind I wanted to do it again. I know that there are always worries and that nothing is set until you are holding the baby. Seeing the numbers are where they should will help me feel better until I get more concrete symptoms.

I can't believe that I have made it through our first week of school with the kiddos. How many more do we have to go? Too many, that is for sure. I wish that we had another long weekend ahead of us, but no luck there. It is just a normal weekend.

I wish those of you testing in the near future luck and I wish that AF comes for Tammy. I have sent her directions to your house, maybe this time she will understand them better.

And so a new chapter begins......

I woke up Sunday morning feeling great. I took my temp, it was still up and I had decided to take a pregnancy test. I had bought some digital ones and thought, what the heck. I did my duty and layed the stick done and went to wash my hands. I know more than got my hands washed and was drying them when I tooked the test and it said......

I couldn't believe it. What did it say? There was no way that it could come up that soon. I just kept staring at it. I bet I looked at it for a good 15 minutes, just waiting for the not to pop up on the screen. It didn't. I decided that I would go and wake up Ryan because he was sleeping through all of this. Mind you it was 7:30 on a Sunday morning.I just can't believe that it finally worked! I am so happy with our new doc and the fact that on my 9th unmedicated IUI I got pregnant. I spent so much money on meds I didn't even need. I'm blown away and I'm speechless. I'm sorry that I didn't post on here sooner but I wanted to make sure that I told my Mom, Dad and Sister first. That was important to me as they have been supportive during the whole ttc process for us. Ryan's family won't find out until we are almost through the first trimester. I have been pregnant before and miscarried, so I don't want to tell too many people yet. My edd is 05-13-2008. Wow was that weird to type! I am a big scrapbooker and I decided I would use that to tell them I'm preggers. So I put 2 pages together and the pictures you see on here are the ones I used. They are very excited and promised not to tell anyone just yet. Ryan and I have been trying now for 30 months. We have done 3 clomid IUI's, 5 follistim IUI's and the last and final IUI was unmedicated and followed by and HSG. I think the new doc knows what he is doing, because just after 1 month I am PREGNANT!
